Abstract

The article reveals the features of distance learning organization for students in higher education institutions. The problem of distance learning has a high degree of relevance. The concentration of the results of the modern social process is focused in the information sphere, which supports the process of updating and improving of professional knowledge of teachers and students. The process of organizing distance learning has both positive and negative aspects. Independent work is important for effective knowledge assimilation by students. Traditional and distance learning have points of contact, but they are not identical. The article reveals the effectiveness of educational platforms and their capabilities to organize students' independent work in the system of distance education.

Distance-learning technology is a set of methods, forms and tools for interaction between teachers and students in the process of independent, but controlled learning of a certain amount of information by students and the formation of profile knowledge. Distance learning system implies a direct and constant communication between a teacher and a student through a system of advanced information technologies. An important advantage of distance learning is the possibility to organize the process of interaction with students, taking into account their real level of training and abilities. Distance learning has a number of distinctive features (interactive learning, independent courses-modules, cost-effectiveness, etc.).
