Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical and practical analysis of the concept "competitiveness" and the construction the model of formation the competitive specialist. It was revealed that the phenomenon of competitiveness was studied in the philosophical and cultural-philosophical paradigm as a necessary condition for the development of humanity in general, in the economic paradigm - as a mandatory element of market relations. In modern psychology, competitiveness is studied as a personality trait that manifests itself in a specialist as competitive behavior and is realized through competitive strategies. The results of the conducted associative experiment with the stimulus "competition" and "competitiveness" in samples of future specialists (students of universities) and businessmen (who have real experience of competitive professional struggle) are analyzed. It was found out that in the sample of "students" competitiveness is understood as a certain ability, first of all - to fight, which is connected with strength and skills, the ability to surpass a competitor, to be better. The semantic field of the concept "Competitiveness" in the sample of "Businessmen" is characterized by the meaning "value", which is associated with the skills and advantages of a specialist compared to other specialists, creates new opportunities and abilities, gives strength and confidence. A model of the formation of a competitive personality of a specialist has been created. It provides for: 1) the development of professional competence; 2) the ability to reveal one's own competitive advantages/values through awareness of one's own uniqueness as a specialist; 3) readiness for competition, which implies self-confidence combined with positive motivation; 4) striving for self-development and professional growth.

The essential specific characteristics of the phenomenon of the competitiveness of a specialist's personality identified as a result of the theoretical and practical analysis are indicators of the level of its formation and serve as the basis for creating a diagnostic program for the level of development of competitiveness in future specialists. Such indicators are: professional competence; identification and actualization of one's own competitive advantages, one's own value and uniqueness as a specialist; readiness for competition, which implies confidence in one's own abilities; reflective skills; striving for self-development and professional growth.
