The article is devoted to the analysis of the use of art therapy methods for the purpose of activating the internal resources of adolescents, their creative self-expression and promoting awareness of their own emotional space. Applying the methods of art therapy for the development of the emotional intelligence and self-awareness, we assumed that: 1) perception is subjective, and the experience is reflected in the internal plan of actions (thoughts, reflections, solutions, etc); 2) "emotional thinking" is associated with the situation of choice, where the various kinds of dysfunctions of cognitive processes may be noted; 3) emotionally charged information is remembered faster and better, compared to indifferent or neutral information; 4) "emotional thinking" is responsible for the individual's awareness of his emotional states and the orientation of his actions to achieve the desired result. The obtained results after the group training provide grounds for asserting that the performance of creative tasks contributes to the development of emotional intelligence and increases the ability to reflexively understand the emotional context of worldview searches, which is expressed in artistic and symbolic forms. The article also analyzes the acoustic resonance principle of sound and music therapy. The relationship between the influence of music and color is considered. A comparative analysis of training effectiveness assessment in the experimental group before, after and 2 months after the formative impact is presented.
