Abstract

The article is dedicated to one of the pressing issues in the psychology of management, specifically the development of psychological traits in managerial activities of managers. It aims to unveil the essence of professional formation and the position of the latter in the process of professional and managerial self-determination.

Drawing upon a thorough analysis of contemporary psychological research, it is posited that the challenge of managerial professional and personal growth is inherently multifaceted. Its resolution lies in the delineation of distinct scientific domains, the prioritization of evolving research agendas, the genesis of novel research spheres, and the formulation of strategies for probing traditional management quandaries.

Given the established standpoint of psychology concerning the comprehension of professional self-identification, the author interprets professional and managerial self-determination as a process of individual and conscious clarification of an individual's essence and their place in the situation of professional and managerial choice.

From a practical point of view, the study generalizes the problem of the management process in relation to the organizational and activity component of the functioning of modern organizational systems, where a key component of their improvement is the formation of a generation of highly professional managers who have a personal attitude to their chosen profession. These leaders not only exhibit outstanding leadership competence but also align themselves with the principles of managerial activities aimed at personal growth through the continual development of creative potential. This involves the ongoing realization of their own ideas and concepts across various aspects of life and within the professional environment.

The author underscores the significance of the transformation process of the higher education system within the framework of implementing European policies, utilizing the global model of quality assurance in higher education. There is a shared vector of collaboration in the discussion and definition of professional competencies, serving as a strategic interconnection crucial for the development of educational degrees and the enhancement of the quality of the professional formation process for future managers during their professional training in higher education.

In conclusion, following an analysis of the investigated problem, it is recommended to develop a specific psycho-pedagogical counseling model employing a diagnostic and recommendation strategy for guiding higher education students in matters of professional and managerial self-determination.
