DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONAL IDENTITY: AGE-RELATED FEATURES AND THE INFLUENCE OF MILITARY ACTIONS

Abstract

 In current scientific discussion, the problem of identity is an interdisciplinary problem because it is presented in almost all fields of social sciences and humanities. Based on an interdisciplinary approach, the theoretical aspects of identity formation are highlighted. The theoretical aspects of the problem in the ontogenetic perspective of age dynamics are considered. The genesis, types, forms and determinants of identification are outlined. On the basis of theoretical differentiation, the theoretical aspects of the formation of national identity are highlighted. An experiment was conducted among youth and early adulthood regarding legal self-consciousness as an element of state (belonging to national) identity. According to the experiment, the low and average level of legal consciousness of the researched was ascertained. National identity is defined as a fundamental mechanism of people's integration through socialization and communication in common social institutions. National identity is defined as a human understanding of the metareasons of belonging to a certain nation. It is a key instrument of determinism in the formation of a united society within the country. War as the cruelest political-social-psychological phenomenon is defined as a catalyst for the strengthening of identity, a revaluation of values, an amplifier of worldview reflection and a factor in the formation of a clear differentiation of national identity.
