Abstract

The article deals with the problem of psychological health of the individual during the war. It is stated that the emergence of the concept of “psychological health” is based on the study of health. It is noted that mental and psychological health are not identical. Psychological health is a relatively new but more significant concept than mental health. As defined by the Mental Health Organization, mental health is a state of well-being in which everyone can realize their own potential and cope with life stressors, work productively and fruitfully.

It is noted that psychological health is a complex, multi-level formation representing a harmonious bodily, mental and spiritual state of an individual, which is based on a balance between internal processes, between a person and the world. There are three levels of psychological health: 1) creative level; 2) adaptive level; 3) maladaptive level or assimilative-adaptive level. There are mental and psychological trauma. In case of mental trauma, there are noticeable disorders of the normal functioning of the psyche. In the case of psychological trauma, there are no such disorders, but the basic beliefs and values of a person change significantly.

Psychological trauma is associated with a traumatic event and a traumatic situation. It is determined that a traumatic situation is a certain event, an incident accompanied by a powerful stressful experience, emotional stress, threatening safety and harming the physical and psychological well-being of a person.

Traumatic disorders have been systematized: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), acute stress disorder (ASD), passive trauma, reactive appetite disorder (RAD), depressed social activity disorder (DSED), adaptation disorders, other and unspecified disorders related to trauma and stress.
