INDIVIDUAL COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE: DEFINITIVE FIELD OF THE PROBLEM IN PSYCHOLOGICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the problem of communicative competence as an internal resource for effective communication. It outlines the conceptual ideas for understanding the essence of terms such as "communicative competence," "communicative personality," "communicative potential," "communicative abilities," "communicative tolerance," and "social intelligence." The socio-psychological significance of competence in communication is analyzed in the context of the uncertain situation in modern Ukrainian life amid the ongoing military conflict. In today's reality, every individual faces the need to solve complex tasks, requiring the engagement of a wide range of individual psychological resources, one of which is communicative competence. Most researchers of this phenomenon agree that communicative competence is a multifaceted, integrative, and generalized personality trait. It encompasses well-developed communicative abilities, formed interpersonal communication skills, and integrative personal dynamic qualities expressed in communication. Communicative competence is realized only through the disclosure of the individual's communicative potential. In the article, communicative competence is examined through the unity of motivational, cognitive, and operational components. It also provides a theoretical and methodological review of various approaches to the structure of communicative competence in the scientific works of the Ukrainian psychological community. The features of activating this multifaceted phenomenon are identified and characterized, with a focus on significant personal qualities of a communicative personality, such as communicative tolerance and social intelligence. These qualities are positioned as factors of positive subject-subject interaction and are essential for success in any communication scenario
