Abstract

The article explores the key features of psychological rehabilitation, focusing on its procedural components, including initial assessment and diagnosis, development of an individualized rehabilitation plan, implementation of rehabilitation interventions, progress monitoring and evaluation, completion of the rehabilitation process, and subsequent follow-up support. In addition, the study highlights supplementary procedural elements essential for structuring effective psychological rehabilitation work. It is emphasized that the procedural design of psychological rehabilitation may vary depending on the goals and objectives of the intervention, contextual factors, target population, type of rehabilitation, the nature of the psychological trauma, and the country in which the rehabilitation is conducted.

The article analyzes the stages of personal rehabilitation and outlines the phases of the rehabilitation process: the acute phase (focused on medical rehabilitation), the phase of preparation and exploration of rehabilitation options, the core rehabilitation phase, and the phase of social and professional integration.

Procedural aspects of psychological rehabilitation are described in relation to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and exposure therapy. The study finds that CBT, EMDR, and exposure therapy share several procedural strategies aimed at reducing psychological discomfort, alleviating anxiety and intense fear, and facilitating the emotional processing of traumatic experiences. Each method includes specific techniques for addressing trauma, such as the use of cognitive-behavioral interventions, bilateral stimulation, and structured exposure tasks.

The article underscores that regular sessions with a trained specialist can assist clients in processing traumatic experiences, stabilizing their psycho-emotional state, reducing distress, developing coping strategies, decreasing symptom severity, and achieving the defined goals of psychological rehabilitation in line with the client’s presenting concerns
