FEATURES OF EMPATHY OF STUDENTS-PSYCHOLOGISTS AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Abstract

The article presents the results of the study of the empathy of psychology students of different courses of study. The following features are characteristic of first-year students: low indices of all parameters of empathy, with the exception of identification in empathy. They are only situationally able to see the behavior of partners, are not able to act in conditions of lack of objective information about them, have active attitudes that prevent empathy, often try to avoid personal contacts, which makes it difficult for all empathic channels to function. Low rates among 3rd year students dominate only in three parameters of empathy: “emotional channel”, “intuitive channel”, “attitudes that promote empathy”. Third-year students are distinguished by stable averages for most of the parameters of empathy, and high rates of "rational channel of empathy." The comparison made it possible to reveal a significant representation of the indicators of a low level of empathy among the first-year students, which in the 3rd year psychology students somewhat decreases, but has a rather pronounced manifestation. Very low rates of empathy are not characteristic of the sample as a whole or separately for each of the courses of study. Significantly higher in third-year students are indicators of only two parameters of empathy: "a rational channel of empathy" and "attitudes that contribute to empathy." The obtained results show positive but rather insignificant changes, since third or third-year students by most parameters of empathy are dominated by medium or low indicators of empathy.
