Abstract

The article discusses the content of paternity as a practice and as identity. It is noted that the values of family, marriage, paternity from obligatory and immutable in real life situations become pragmatic and personalized in the practices of distant family, career marriage, weekend marriage, childfree, etc. It is noted that the axiological sense of the practices of marriage and family partnership affects on the structure and meanings of paternity practices.

It is noted that in the conditions of a changed sociality, the asymmetric paternity paradigm is transformed into a symmetrical one. This means that relationships with children do not depend on kinship. Paternity is manifested despite sexual identity and is not divided according to the gender specification of functions related to care and upbringing.

It is noted that in the social reality reproduction and paternity are no longer single-row concepts - between them a stable relationship and the value of absolute values are lost. Gaps: paternity - reproduction, reproduction - sexuality, reproduction - kinship are the socio-psychological consequences of changes in the practices of marriage and family partnership and paternity. This leads to the fact that paternity as a sociocultural phenomenon, associated with the natural need for procreation, in non-structural discourse becomes “polycontextual”.
